Mason/Helper
Reports to: Foreman Summary: Responsible for the installation of rebar, pouring footers, laying block, brick, natural and cultured stone. Attention to detail a must. Ability to read plans, experience with pavers and retaining block a plus.

Job Duties:
- Mows lawn either by hand or using a riding or zero turn lawnmower.
- Cut lawn and weed using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
- Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, bushes and trees.
- Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others.
- Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
- Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down to keep people from falling.
- Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
- Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
- Check in/out of various equipment needed for job site
- Other misc. landscape/maintenance duties.

Foreman/Equipment Operator - Landscape Construction
Reports to: Landscape Manager
Summary: The Landscape Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing all on-site aspects of landscape construction projects. As Operator he/she is also responsible for operating a variety of equipment which may include: mini-excavator, skid steer, dump truck, and other landscape related vehicles and equipment. Operator will use equipment to perform a variety of tasks which may include: fine grading and finishing; landscaping; sloping and banking; backfilling; ditching; excavating; rough grading; trenching; material handling; slope grooming and; snow removal.

Job Duties:
- Manage the execution of construction projects to ensure completion of job(s) within project deadlines
- Manage safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yard
- Assist in the preparation of job sites prior to the beginning of a project
- Supervise and coordinate the day to day work activities of a landscape construction crew of 4 to 5 employees
- Delegate job tasks to appropriate crew members to assist in the completion of landscape constructions
- Operate various tools and equipment, including: heavy equipment, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
- Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activities
- Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis, including: crew daily forms, equipment daily inspection forms, attendance tracking, time and materials billing summaries, etc.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
- Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE standards
- Enforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations at shop/yard and on jobsites
- Employee training
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
- Operate heavy equipment to complete a variety of job tasks to assist with landscape construction projects
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment
- Conduct daily equipment inspections reports on equipment before use
- Report any repair issues or equipment hazards immediately
- Secure special attachments to equipment
- Assist with general labor duties, in order to complete landscape construction projects
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Requirements:
- Some college, vocational or technical training
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the landscape/construction industry leading crews and operating equipment
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
- Physically fit with strong stamina
- Basic measurement and calculation skills
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
- Ability to follow safe working procedures and operate required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
